1st Generation Veteran-Owned Ranch & Flower Farm

Our Story
Black Dog Ranch is a small, veteran-owned ranch and flower farm in Cheney, Washington, run by Megan and Josh. As veterans, they bring intention and care to how the land is managed, with a focus on permaculture-inspired practices, integrated livestock, and long-term land stewardship. The ranch is less about chasing maximum output and more about doing things the right way - working with natural systems, building healthy soil, and making sure the land is better off year after year.
How the Land Is Managed
Land at Black Dog Ranch is managed with a focus on long-term health rather than short-term output. Goats and pigs are integrated into the system to help clear land for growing and naturally contribute amendments back to the soil. Chemical inputs are avoided whenever possible, and the goal is to continually reduce reliance on outside inputs by building fertility and resilience directly into the land itself.
